Audio Mix “Sucker Punch” + Enhanced Headphone Mode is the spatial footstep base. Set the game sound device to your headset.
07 Windows Loudness EQ — the cheat code
- Right-click the speaker icon (or open Control Panel → Sound) → Manage audio devices
- Double-click your headset in the Playback list
- Open the Enhancements tab
- Check Loudness Equalization → Apply → OK
This is the “hear everything” leveler — it raises faint footsteps toward the loud stuff. Built into Windows, free. (PC only.)
